Terms and conditions

  1. Payment and Fees
  • Full course fees must be paid by the first day of class.

  • Published prices may be updated periodically without prior notice. Any prices previously agreed upon through direct communication with us will be honored.

  • Payments can be made via bank transfer, credit card, cash, or other approved methods at the time of payment.

  • Under no circumstances does Academia Buenos Aires refund money paid for classes and/or housing. However, payments already made can be used in the future for onsite or online classes and/or housing.

  1. Insurance Requirements
  • Argentine immigration authorities require all foreign students to have travel and medical insurance for the duration of their stay.

  • Academia Buenos Aires may request proof of insurance at the time of enrollment.

  • Insurance is the student’s sole responsibility; Academia Buenos Aires does not cover medical or travel expenses.

  1. Emergency Contact Information
  • All students must provide valid emergency contact details at the time of enrollment.

  1. Classes & Academic Policies
  • Public Holidays: If there are two national holidays in the same week, classes will be held on one of those days as determined by Academia Buenos Aires. Any remaining hours missed due to holidays will be made up within the same week.

  • Minimum Class Size: If there is only one student in an intensive group course at a given level in a given week, the weekly course hours will be reduced to 10. In this case, the student will receive 10 private lessons at the intensive group course rate.

  • Missed Classes: Students may make up missed classes at no extra cost only if their absence is justified. An absence is considered justified if the student falls ill and informs Academia Buenos Aires by email or phone before the start of class. A doctor’s note must also be presented. Missed classes may be made up through group, individual, or online lessons, depending on availability. The schedule for make-up classes will be coordinated with the academic coordinators.

  1. Conduct & Behavior
  • Students are expected to behave respectfully toward staff, fellow students, host families, and property. Academia Buenos Aires does not tolerate racist conduct, insulting behavior, harassment, fighting, obstruction of other students’ learning experience, or any behavior which — based on basic international consensus — is deemed unacceptable in an academic context. In these cases, students will be excluded from class with no refund.

  • Academia Buenos Aires reserves the right to expel any student without refund in cases of serious misconduct, illegal activity, or repeated violations of Academia Buenos Aires’s rules.

  1. Liability
  • Academia Buenos Aires is not responsible for the loss, theft, or damage of personal belongings inside the school building or during excursions or activities organized by the school.

  • Any damage to school property caused by a student must be compensated.

  • Participation in excursions or extracurricular activities is voluntary and at the student’s own risk.

  • Academia Buenos Aires is not liable for injuries, accidents, or medical expenses incurred outside classroom activities.

  1. Housing & Accommodation
  • Use of Premises: Students must respect house rules, including cleanliness, noise, and smoking policies. Each host family may have its own rules which must also be observed.

  • Guests: Hosting guests overnight is not permitted unless explicitly authorized by the host family or accommodation provider.

  • Damages: Students are fully responsible for and must pay for any damage caused to the house, furniture, or other property during their stay.

  • Keys & Security: Students must take care of accommodation keys; lost keys may incur replacement costs.
  • Loss, theft, damage: Academia Buenos Aires carefully selects and regularly controls the host families. However, the Academia cannot be held responsible for the loss, theft, or damage of personal belongings inside the homestay or on the way from and to the school.

  • Changes or Termination: Academia Buenos Aires reserves the right to change or terminate housing arrangements if students repeatedly violate rules or display disrespectful behavior.

  • Illness: If a student tests positive for an infectious disease considered a health risk to their cohabitants while staying in accommodation arranged by Academia Buenos Aires, they will have to move to a different accommodation to isolate and receive treatment at their own expense. Academia Buenos Aires can assist in finding new housing suitable for isolation but will not cover any costs related to the accommodation or treatment.

  1. Student Visa
  • Academia Buenos Aires can provide documentation to support student visa applications for those enrolled in qualifying programs.

  • The issuance of visas is entirely at the discretion of Argentine authorities; Academia Buenos Aires is not responsible for visa denials, delays, or additional requirements imposed by immigration offices.

  • Students are responsible for maintaining valid visa status at all times during their stay in Argentina.

  • Any costs associated with visa applications, renewals, extensions, or legal assistance are the sole responsibility of the student.

  • Enrollment may be suspended or terminated if a student fails to maintain legal immigration status.

  • No refunds will be granted if a student is unable to continue due to visa issues, except in cases where Argentine immigration authorities deny the visa before the course start date and the student has not yet begun classes. In such cases, Academia Buenos Aires may offer partial refunds subject to administrative fees, as specified in direct communication with the student.

  1. Force Majeure
  • Academia Buenos Aires will make no reimbursement in cases of force majeure, including general strikes, civil disorder, severe weather, acts of God, acts of terror, war, pandemics, or other unavoidable events beyond the control of Academia Buenos Aires.

  1. Photographic Record
